We’ve all heard the term ‘seven-year itch’ before, but it’s almost always dismissed as a myth meant to spook couples in long term relationships.
Well according to our survey done on behalf of Pure Romance, that doesn’t appear to be the case! Of the 1,000 married people polled, the average year where difficulty is most commonly experienced is actually the seventh.
The results also found that the average ‘honeymoon stage’ lasts just under nine months, and the most common arguments being over finances, chores, and sex.
Luckily, you don’t have to wait too long to make up. The average time to stay angry before forgiving your partner for a common quarrel is only 5 hours. So don’t worry, drinking the milk straight from the carton or ducking your chores won’t put you in the doghouse for too long!
